My name is Kaitlin Parnigoni and I am located on the
west island of Montreal. Coming from a very artistic family, I always
knew I would find a career that would stretch my imagination and exercise
my creativity. This is why I am pursuing a career as a professional makeup
artist. It is a job that would combine my creative talent with my profound
passion for cosmetics. I am planning to enroll at
Inter-Dec College in their Artistic Makeup
program next fall. Until I can start my official education, I have satisfied
my interest by reading books, participating in online discussion boards and of
course, by practicing on others as well as myself. I have independently learned
an impressive amount about choosing the right colors, using the right tools/
brushes and general techniques in the application of makeup.
Makeup is the ultimate art form. Every time I sit down to create a
masterpiece I always have a new and unique canvas to work with. The challenge
of a makeup artist is to enhance rather then to mask a person. When
thought about properly, makeup is not really about “applying”
but about “pulling out” someone’s best features.
